


Dr. Sigrid Evelyn Nikutta

Dr. Sigrid Evelyn Nikutta is a senior executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across freight transport, logistics, and large-scale industrial operations. She holds a doctorate in Psychology from LMU Munich, specialising in industrial and organisational psychology, and began her career in management roles at a medium-sized company before joining Deutsche Bahn in 1996.
During her early tenure at Deutsche Bahn, she held senior positions in Dresden, Frankfurt, Duisburg/Cologne and Mainz, including Head of Human Resources, Head of Production, and spokeswoman for block train transport. She later served as Board Member for Production at DB Cargo Polska, gaining extensive expertise in rail freight operations and pan-European logistics.
In 2010, Dr. Nikutta became Chairperson and Chief Operating Officer of Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), Germany’s largest public transport company. As the first woman to lead BVG, she oversaw a comprehensive operational turnaround and returned the organisation to profitability for the first time in its history.
In 2020, she rejoined Deutsche Bahn as Member of the Management Board for Freight Transport and CEO of DB Cargo AG, where she was responsible for the operational leadership of Europe’s largest rail freight operator and played a key role in strengthening Germany’s logistics infrastructure.
At ACM, Dr. Nikutta serves as Chairperson of the Strategic Advisory Board, providing high-level guidance on industrial strategy, logistics, European transport systems, and public-sector engagement.
