Investment Strategy

Investing where material security becomes investable.

Our strategy focuses on critical points in the value chain where specialist capital can unlock supply, infrastructure, technology and long-term strategic value.

Our approach

We invest in systems, not simply commodities.

A critical material becomes strategically useful only when it can be produced, processed, financed, transported, qualified and delivered to an industrial customer. ACM evaluates opportunities within that broader system, combining asset-level investment analysis with an understanding of material flows, processing constraints, industrial demand and strategic relevance.

01

Strategic Supply

We focus on development-stage and operating opportunities where resources are defined, technical work is advanced and there is a realistic pathway towards production or expansion. Early-stage greenfield exploration is not a core focus.

Defined resources · advanced technical development · clear permitting pathways · credible operating plans · strategic material relevance
02

Supply-Linked Capital

Capital can do more than finance an asset. When structured alongside material supply and industrial demand, it can help create greater commercial certainty across the value chain.

Offtake-linked structures · customer alignment · prepayment · commercial certainty · long-term demand
03

Processing & Strategic Infrastructure

Resources alone do not create material security. Processing, refining, separation, conversion and associated infrastructure determine whether raw material can become usable industrial supply.

Refining · separation · conversion · midstream capacity · strategic bottlenecks
04

Circular Supply

Recycling, recovery, urban mining and improved use of industrial by-products can create additional sources of critical materials while reducing dependence on primary supply.

Recycling · recovery · secondary materials · industrial by-products · circular flows
Cross-cutting strategy

Technology across the value chain.

Technology is not separate from the critical materials opportunity. It increasingly determines which resources can be developed economically, how efficiently materials can be processed and recovered, and how supply chains can be understood and managed.

01

Investment lens

What we look for.

Across the platform, opportunities are assessed through a consistent investment lens combining strategic relevance with commercial and technical discipline.

Strategic relevance

Does the opportunity address a meaningful material or supply-chain requirement?

Commercial fundamentals

Is there a credible route to sustainable revenues, margins and investment returns?

Technical quality

Are the underlying asset, process or technology and its development plan robust?

Supply-chain position

Does the opportunity occupy a valuable or constrained point in the chain?

Demand visibility

Is there identifiable industrial demand and a credible path towards customer alignment?

Execution & jurisdiction

Can the opportunity be developed within an investable legal, regulatory and operating environment?

Scope discipline

Focused where ACM can add value.

We distinguish between attractive critical-material exposure and areas that sit outside our core mandate. Early-stage greenfield exploration and large-scale heavy downstream manufacturing are not core areas of focus; technology-led businesses serving strategic industries remain investable where they fit the platform thesis.
